The Office

Office Policies

Telephone Medicine:
Telephone medicine is usually not quality care. Antibiotics and scheduled controlled substances require a the generation of a medical record of a patient visit.

The Waiting Room:
Almost everybody that comes to be seen will some vital sign measured. If you are sick, temperature and pulse are important. For high blood pressure, obviously blood pressure are important. These are not accurate if taken upon arrival at the office. Please understand, I would rather have my patients relax and read a book or magazine or something for twenty minutes or so to allow your body to relax so that those measurements may be real resting measurements. Consistency is important. If when you complete your intake form, you find that it may be more than a half hour, please feel free request a reschedule of your appointment if you like.

Acute Illnesses:
One slot each hour is reserved for acute illnesses. They are released the last hour of the day before and the following morning. If you are sick, feel free to call in the morning for same day appointments.

Walk-ins:
Walk in can be worked in but they may take a while. All scheduled appointments will take priority. Patients arriving more than 15 minutes late for their scheduled appointment will be considered a walk-in.

Missed Appointments:
The time allotted for your appointment was reserved especially for you. If you must miss an appointment, please cancel your appointment the day prior. As we get busier, people with acute illnesses are likely to be turned away. I am certain you would feel angry if you were sick, wanted relief and could not get an appointment while there was an opening thet was wasted. First offenses will generate a warning letter. All other violations of this policy will be charged a $20 missed appointment fee.
